Ever walked through a valley for no reason known to you?
If so, you would probably relate to Job. He walked through just about everything being stripped from him before God returned many times over what he lost. His friends questioned his integrity. They judged his circumstances and assumed he brought it on himself. Yet Job never wavered in His faith in God. His perseverance through testing is used as an example many times over. One such place is James 5:11, which says:
As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.
Notice the word FINALLY in this passage. That means it took a while.
If you are waiting on God remember – just because you haven’t seen it yet doesn’t mean it’s not coming. Wait for it!! Those who persevere in trusting God will be rewarded.
Let’s Pray – Father God, thank you for the grace to persevere through life’s struggles. I praise you for you are faithful, trustworthy and true. You keep your promises. Though I may not see them yet, I stand firm in hope and expectancy, knowing you who promise are faithful! In Jesus Name, amen.
